Be The Change!

Be the change you wish to see in the world. - Mahatma Gandhi

Someone I spoke to recently asked me this question: "How can homeschooling work for those who are really poor?" In the Philippines, we know that there are MILLIONS of families who live below the poverty line, and can just barely afford to send their kids to public school, let alone pay for what is needed for home education. It has made me really think hard about how homeschooling can be accessible to all people from all walks of life, and levels of society.

To be honest, I still don't have a good answer to that question - perhaps one of you out there could give me some inputs?

In the meantime though, I will do what I can to support those groups that are trying to make a concrete difference in the lives of the poor. One of them is our Catholic community's very own ANCOP ministry.

ANCOP stands for "Answering the Cry of the Poor." To know more about ANCOP's programs, please click here. To know how YOU can help the work of ANCOP, please click here. Or you can just watch the video below (I am so blessed to have been given the privilege to write the script for it! hehe):

This August 21, 2011, ANCOP will be holding the ANCOP Global Walk 2011! For the first time ever, people from all over the Philippines, and countries like the US, Canada and Australia, among others, will be walking together to support scholars and other beneficiaries of ANCOP!
For more information please do "Like" ANCOP Global Walk's Facebook page here. If you and your homeschool kids want to participate in something worthwhile and meaningful, I highly recommend you sign up for this event! Hope to see you there!
